OpsMailmanager version 1.1 released: major new email management features for Alfresco ECM

05 May, 2009, Reading, UK

Opsera Limited, a leading provider of Open Source software and services, today announces the release of OpsMailmanager version 1.1.

This release extends OpsMailmanager to make it even easier to file email messages into Alfresco's ECM repository, and improve information management across organisations.

OpsMailmanager is the only Open Source email management product that integrates emails into overall document storage, search and retrieval, by automating the filing and classification of email messages, and their attachments, from Outlook, Lotus Notes or other email clients, into Alfresco ECM.

By storing emails alongside other documents, you are able to share, search and secure all your organisation's information in one place.

OpsMailmanager and Alfresco ECM together enable organisations to implement an integrated email and document information management strategy that benefits from the openness and cost effectiveness of an Open Source software subscription model.

Key new features for OpsMailmanager release 1.1 are:

  • eMail filing engine - files emails based on properties such as sender, recipient, or words in the subject line
  • Attachment Manager - automatically extracts attachments so that they can be stored separately, while retaining the information about what message they were attached to
  • Duplicate email management - never store the same email twice
  • Auto-subscribe management - no need to subscribe to folders to see them from your email client
  • Alfresco version 3 support
  • Multibyte support - use languages such as Arabic, Greek and Russian
  • Performance improvements - Lucene search framework speeds indexing and search
  • UI improvements
